EBA collaborative conference mural
I was asked by the Europea Biogas Association to create an interactive collaborative mural activity for their annual conference held in Brussels in October. The goal of the mural was to create a sort of zen colouring activity that showcases how biomethane is produced and gives people the possibility to network during a low-stakes creative break.
CO-creation with the EBA team
First we sat together with Ana, the EBA event manager and came up with ideas for what the collaborative mural could be about. We landed on the production and use of biomethane because we wanted to go back to the beginning and create an image that depicts the most basic information about using biomethane as fuel.
People got the hang of it really quickly
Even though this is a new kind of activity that people haven’t seen at a lot of events before, participants intuitively understood what they have to do and contributed as much as they wanted to bring the image alive with colours. Meanwhile, they could meet and chat without stress or pressure. As they kept on returning after each session, they saw that new areas have been coloured, and they saw the image come to full fruition.
Final image as a backdrop for day two
By the end of day one, the whole image was finished, so during day two, it served as a beautiful backdrop for discussions a group pictures. The organisers were so happy with it they decided to transport it to their office to display it there and they kept on receiving compliments for the great organisation and creative activity.
