Telling stories with pictures and words
-
Illustrations
Illustrations are a great way to tell your story. They can be used to illustrate online and printed campaigns, for publications, for events, as maps or as the basis of mural designs.
-
Infographics
If you have a lot of data that you would like to present visually to your audience, infographics are the way to go. These are great to explain complicated subjects, research findings, to show how things relate to each other and thus facilitating making sense of all the information.
-
Sketchnotes
Sketchnotes are a mix between illustration and inforgraphics. They are usually created live, and are a less-structured more informal way to summarise information, usually for social media and reporting purposes.
About the design process
-
Co-creation
First we sit together (virtually) to think about what you want to communicate, who is your audience, and what are the outcomes that you are looking to achieve. We also discuss style, colors, and timelines.
-
Illustration
I then combine everything we discussed in a first draft that is our baseline. Sometimes this first draft turns out so well there is little modification afterwards, but more often, we will start to iterate to get to the final version.
-
Feedback and iterations
Based on your feedback, I’ll move things around, change colors etc. We will go back and forth until you are satisfied with the end result. Usually 3 rounds of feedback is more than enough.
-
Delivery of final version
Once you give the green light, I will deliver you the final versions in the files/formats you need. You will also get the copyright so you will be able to use the files in any way you’d like.
